A Happy Little Reboot: Creative Free Flow Begins
🎨 Good Morning, Family!
It’s been a long week without you all — and a weird one at that. What was supposed to be a quiet creative break turned into a full-blown detour through uncharted inspiration and… at least three unexpected software updates. Here’s what happened.
Right before my week off, Affinity went completely free.
That’s right! For the first time I can ever remember, best-in-class art and design software is accessible to everyone. Even better? It’s the same software I use on stream every week. Add in DaVinci Resolve (also free!) for video editing, and suddenly we’re looking at a world where anyone can jump in, learn, and create right alongside us.
So instead of just building a few new layers for the live shows last week, I went ahead and built a whole new framework that makes all of this possible live — a mix of classroom, chaos, and happy little accidents. Think Bob Ross meets StandardDamage, but with fewer trees and more neon.
🗓️ Here’s the new plan:
Starting with this post, I’ll be sharing not just our weekly schedule, but also what content we’ll be working on in each stream. That way, if you want to follow along or learn the same tools, you can!
Tools we use (and now you can too):
🎨 Affinity – Art, Photo & Design
🎥 DaVinci Resolve – Video Editing
📡 Meld – Streaming Software
🎬 This Week’s Focus
We’ll be finishing the new live stream overlay designs in Affinity and Meld — except on Tuesday. Tuesdays are now officially Creative Free Flow: Game Dev Edition, where we shift gears to focus on DaMage’s Rift.
This week we’ll be working on the DaMage’s Rift logo and key art to get our Steam page ready.
Stream Schedule:
🕑 Sunday: 2 PM – 5 PM
🕑 Tuesday: 2 PM – 5 PM (Game Dev Edition)
🕑 Wednesday: 2 PM – 5 PM
🕑 Friday: 2 PM – 5 PM
(Evening streams and bonus sessions are coming soon. Stay tuned!)
đź’ś Final Thoughts
I know the Radio Station, Website updates, and Music Store didn’t quite make it out the door last week. I’m truly sorry for that delay, but every brushstroke and overlay we finish on stream gets us one step closer to launching them the right way.
I’ve missed all of you more than I can say, and I cannot wait to get back on stream with you today. Let’s make some art, share some laughs, and maybe learn a thing or two along the way.
See you soon, Fam.
